Webb5 mars 2008 · The tube is chromed and therein lies the problem. My lathe threading skills are slim at best so I want to use a die. The problem I have is holding the tube while turning the die to cut the threads. I have tried wrapping it in paper and holding it in a vice but the turning the die just turns the tube rather than cutting the thread.
