Visitors flock to the rainforests, volcanoes, beaches and of course dive sites. But during certain times of year the beaches host not only to human visitors, but also hundreds of nesting and hatching sea turtles. Webb13 okt. 2024 · The Ostional beach is considered a wildlife refuge. The Ostional national wildlife refuge was created in 1984 as a way of protecting the turtles nesting sites. Prior to that, it was very common for locals to eat all of the turtle eggs. If you visit when the turtles are not nesting you are free to walk the beach without paying.
