WebbI had the same experience when I applied to Rice two years ago (wow, I feel old). They offered me a third of what WUSTL and Notre Dame did in need-based aid. Their financial aid office was quite condescending when I asked if they could offer any more. Also, UT Austin is a great school! I'm sure you'll love it there.
