It can be done on the workbench or tractor with drive belt removed, and all wires removed from the F terminal. For the bench test you’ll need a battery, jumper cables, and a test lead. The deck has a few rust spots but works smooth. The tiller is a beast. I mowed a small section of my yard & very pleased with it. The deck doesn't travel up or down very far.
